Hi, I'm Timothee Afanasiev, a Full Stack Developer based right here in Warsaw, Poland. For the past four years, I've been immersed in the world of digital product creation, focusing on building products that are not just functional, but genuinely intuitive for users.

My Journey
Early Spark
My passion for technology and coding started in my teenage years. I was fascinated by how things work, and that curiosity naturally led me to programming and engineering. In 2022, I graduated from high school in 🇬🇷 Thessaloniki, Greece, where I was first introduced to the basics of programming and computer science. Right after, I passed the C2 Proficiency in English and moved to 🇵🇱 Warsaw, Poland, in search of better opportunities.

Education
-
In 2022, I joined the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology, pursuing a degree in Computer Science. It gave me a strong foundation in programming concepts and problem-solving—an important stepping stone into the tech world.
-
At the same time, I participated in the 🇮🇹 Epicode Bootcamp (2022-2023), where I focused on the JavaScript ecosystem for both frontend and backend development, which has been my primary toolkit. The program was intense, covering everything from real-time applications and authentication to encryption, databases, and highly interactive interfaces—but I loved every bit of it.
-
Wanting to challenge myself further, I joined 42 Warsaw (2024-Now). The program's emphasis on low-level C programming, UNIX systems, and efficiency was exactly what I needed to sharpen my problem-solving skills. Once I graduate, I'll earn France's RNCP Level 7 diploma, equivalent to a Master's degree.
-
In parallel with 42 Warsaw, I started studying 🇵🇱 Polish at Language School Together. In July 2025, I passed my A2 exam, and I'm now preparing for B1.
Professional Experience
-
While studying in Epicode, I interned as a Frontend Engineer at draive.gr (2022-2023), a 🇬🇷 Greek startup focused on autonomous driving technology. I worked on their website, polishing the user interface. This role gave me my first taste of real-world collaboration.
-
Right after graduating, I joined Demandsphere (2023), a 🇺🇸🇯🇵 US/JP SEO company, as a Junior Full Stack Developer. There, I worked with Ruby, Python, and JavaScript on projects ranging from legacy system migrations to developing new features. This experience helped me grow both technically and as part of a team, while learning how to balance client requirements with real-world solutions.
-
In 2024, I transitioned to freelance development, which allowed me to stay connected with real-world projects while giving me the freedom to explore new technologies—especially Go.
Apart from paid work, I also dedicate time to Open Source. I've contributed to several major repositories, including Grafana, Next.js, and Pterm.
Open to Opportunities
I'm currently available part-time for both frontend and backend roles. If you're looking for a dedicated developer to help bring your ideas to life, feel free to reach out!
